The Mission

The Mission Statement:

Everybody Hates Cleveland was born in a Text Barrage in April of 2014 when four friends got down to talking Cleveland Sports. The dream, if you believe in such things, is that EHC would become your home for general thoughts, opinions, analysis and general meanderings of all things Cleveland Sports. We all realized that we had more to talk about than Cleveland Indians baseball. It also had a lot to do with scheduling as well, as life got in the way of deadlines.

This site isn’t trying to be the definitive anything. It’s truly about a few friends that love Cleveland sports, a few friends that love writing and podcasting, and a few friends that are dedicated to follow this team until they all win championships…

…or they die…

…whichever comes first.

The name would imply that the writers here  “hate Cleveland.” We don’t.

Perhaps we do in many ways. Perhaps we hate that our loved ones have to put up with the destitute and the dreary. Perhaps we hate that we are passing on this tradition of not coming through when it counts.

Perhaps we DO hate Cleveland, the way that most brothers and sisters hate each other.

It’s the Gorilla Mentality. Why do we follow the Indians? It’s called loyalty. Blind and stupid loyalty.

The rest of the World hates Cleveland. LeBron left for South Beach. Bill Simmons says God Hates Cleveland seemingly every day. Fans of every other team…in every other sport…hold the Cleveland franchises with no regard, and the fans akin to mud.

…such is life.

What’s our mission statement?

If you want to talk baseball, football or basketball with a Cleveland spin, then this is your site. Think of it as your local watering hole where you can stop by on your way home from work, and just pretend we’re your favorite bartenders…

…so welcome, have a look around, read some articles, listen to some podcasts, and feel free to leave a comment or two on your trip to the place everyone hates…and only we can love.

Come back and visit anytime…won’t you?
